The Baker's Grove is a neighborhood artisan bakeshop producing hand-crafted, made-from-scratch pastries, desserts, cookies & savory delights which celebrate seasonal & locally-grown ingredients.
Matthew Rosenzweig, Owner & Pastry Chef. Matthew began his baking career in 2007 at Delicious Orchards before joining the team at the Flaky Tart in 2009, working under acclaimed pastry chef Marie Jackson. He eventually took over the business as co-owner in 2015, growing the bakery and receiving many accolades, including becoming a James Beard Foundation Award semifinalist for Outstanding Baker and was awarded the Pastry Chef prize from the International Academy of Gastronomy in Paris. After closing the Flaky Tart in 2020, Matthew broke out on his own to bring you his incredible creations that celebrate seasonality & locality at The Baker's Grove. Combining his love of baking, art & nature, you are in for a real treat when you experience his beautifully crafted and flavorful sweets.
Terri Yee, Pastry Chef. Terri found her love of baking during a high school culinary class and began spending time baking cookies at home with with her mom. She decided to pursue pastry as a career and attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Terri went on to work at a local vegan bakery for five years before joining us to round out our team. You'll often times catch a glimpse of Terri constructing our specialty cakes or making our popular flaky & buttery croissants. She has a skillful hand and attention to detail that make her a perfect team member of The Baker's Grove.
Kashmala Khan, Pastry Chef. Kashmala grew up enjoying time baking with her family and attended the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC to pursue her passion. She went on to work in the renowned pastry kitchens of Jean-Georges and Lafayette Grand Cafe & Bakery before joining our team. Kashmala is a true professional who takes pride in creating the most delicious & beautiful treats for you, including our popular French macarons, assorted tarts, and cinnamon rolls. You will surely appreciate everything she creates here at The Baker's Grove.
Niko Dalman, Production Baker. Niko was inspired by Top Chef to pursue a culinary career and attended the American Hospitality Academy in Phillippines. He had the honor of working with the late Floyd Cardoz at White Street in NYC, as well as many other notable spots in New York and Houston. Niko loves working with his hands, which lead him to his newest passion of baking. He also loves to experiment and incorporate Filipino flavors into his pastries. After staging at La Parisienne French Bakery in Seattle and a short stint bread baking at Talula's in Asbury Park, he now finds himself at The Baker's Grove. You'll often times catch a glimpse of Niko making a batch of our most popular Salted Chocolate Chunk Cookies, mixing doughs & batters, or baking cakes & brownies. His great work ethic, skillful hands, and eagerness to learn new things make him a perfect asset to our team.
